Study Arrangement
The first to second year: |
Participants will be employed by the participating companies as apprentices. For the first and second years, the employer will sponsor the apprentice to study the Diploma (Dip) programme at CCI for one day per week |
The third year: |
Full time on the job training |
Allowance & Salary*
During the training period, participants will receive a total of $30,800 Industry Incentive Allowance, government allowance under the Earn & Learn Scheme (up to $90,000) and Training Allowance (up to $36,000). Given a guaranteed monthly salary not less than $9,470. |

Monthly income of $12,470 or above |
The second year of training Monthly salary not less than $9,470 and $2,500 Government Allowance and $1,000 Training Allowance& |

Monthly income of $13,470 or above |
The Industry Incentive Allowance will be disbursed in stages during the first to third year of training | A total of $30,800 |
* Mode of issuing subsidy and Government Allowance may vary across trades and industries.
& For apprentices who join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme on or after 1 April 2024, they are entitled to the Monthly Apprenticeship Training Allowance of $1,000 per month during the apprenticeship, for a maximum of 36 months.
Tuition Fees
- Employers will sponsor the tuition fees.
Entry Requirement
- Completion of S6 under the new academic structure / S5 under the old academic structure, or equivalent, 1 year or above relevant catering work experience AND a pass in an interview; OR
- Successful completion of a QF Level 2 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board, 1 year or above relevant catering work experience AND a pass in an interview; OR
- Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 2 or above AND a pass in an interview;
- One year or above Chinese kitchen work experience, a pass in an interview AND a pass in a practical evaluation
